I'm still dabbling with pair programming. I'm curious to those that do pair programming, how often is it done? 100% of the time? Every other day? Only on big / difficult tasks the the development team would think pair programming is the best approach?
What are the advantages and disadvantages to doing it all of time time, some of the time, or only on difficult items?

I've yet to find a task that's "too easy" to pair program on.
I guess that's mostly because tasks that are that easy should be automated. Which then again isn't a such easy task.

Our team practices Pair Programming 100% of the time. The only exceptions are when there is an odd number of developers (someone is sick, etc). Our work is either all high quality professional services development work for clients or it is product development work. Quality, a learning environment and the spread of system knowledge are very important to us.
