Should it be in the team room around the workstations? In a conference room? In a managers office? Via teleconference line? Over breakfast? :)
Where is the most useful / productive place to hold a standup meeting?

It seems to be most useful to be in front of the team taskboard.
This gives several benefits:
- Gives visibility to any impediments (which helps them get cleared)
- Reminds everyone about the tasks in progress
- Leads to some updating of the taskboard during the meeting
- Product Owner gets a sense of progress by seeing movement of tasks
- Highlights any bottlenecks in the flow of tasks (e.g. we need to do QA!)
